Hesaraghatta is one of the off-road destinations little outskirts of Bangalore City. It is the best place for the people who would be planning a day out road trip/picnic from the usual chaos of the city. Hesaraghatta offers you lush greenery everywhere around which is a wonderful time for your sight.

It has many sightseeing spots covered for all types of travelers. Say it greenery, say it lakes, say it landscapes, say it cafes or say its temples, you've got everything covered. One of the main attraction here is the Hesaraghatta Grasslands which is a beautiful site of acres together land which is completely covered with greenery and trees.

People usually come here to witness the landscape and to take the bite of some off-road stunts in sports bikes/cars. It is a government reserved area so it is not open for visitors always, but you might have to take police permission who would be right there at the entrance gate of Grasslands.

The best time to visit this place would be winter mornings during November - March. The next main attraction would be the lake to feel and get refreshed by gazing at the water spree. Though boating/swimming here is prohibited people visit this place to walk around the Hesaraghatta Lake and feel refreshed.

One of the topmost visitors receiving spot is Madurai Shani Mahatma temple which is right around the place. It is one of the famous temples in the town. People from various cities travel to visit this temple offer prayer and materialistic offerings to Lord Shani.

How to reach the Destination

By flight

The nearest airport is the Bangalore City International Airport. One could take a cab/hire a private vehicle to get to the place.

By train

The nearest railway station is Chikkabanavara/Gollahalli railway station. Many trains that leave City Railway Station would pass through these railway stations. And trains from many cities including Mysore, Chikmagalore would halt at this station.

By Road

Best way to reach the destination from City Bus stand or any part of Bangalore. There are regular KSRTC and BMTC buses until Hesargatta Main Bus Stand. Or one could take a metro ride until Dasarahalli Metro station and take a bus ride for the next 15kms to reach the destination.
