Bull Temple, also known as Dod Basavana Gudi temple is one of the famous temples in Namma Bengaluru. It is located in the suburb of Basavanagudi, and thus the suburb gets the name Basavanagudi for the reason being temple lies in it. In Kannada, Basva means Bull and Gudi means Temple.
The temple holds a history of over 1000s together years. The temple hosts it's annual fair during the last Monday of Karthika Masa ( sometime during November ) post-Deepavali. Visitors and travelers from many cities and interstate cities take part in one of the biggest annual cultural fairs that happen here in Bengaluru.
There's also another famous temple, 'Doddaganesha temple' which is a part of Bull temple itself. Opposite to temple lies a beautiful park where one can take a walk and chill out.
Bugle rock is one of the famous landmarks in Bangalore that which lies in the park opposite Bull temple. It is believed that it was possible to view the whole of Bangalore when one used to climb up to the rock, but these days due to a lot of traffic and many buildings that have taken place in the city there's no much of a view.
The branded hotels namely 'Vidyarthi Bhavan' and 'Roti Ghar' also lay around this temple.
The nearest airport is the Bangalore City International Airport. One could take a cab/hire a private vehicle to get to the place.
The nearest railway station is City Central railway station. Trains from all over India and the trains from all the major cities in Karnataka halts here. One could take a BMTC bus/Auto/Cab from the railway station.
Best way to reach the destination from City Bus stand or any part of Bangalore. There are regular BMTC buses to the place or one could take a metro ride until the National ground metro station from any metro station and then take auto/cab/10 mins to walk from the National Grounds metro station until destination.
